"LIKE BEGETS LIKE" - A collection of My Prayer for Zuriel

Today is his Birthday! You will not need a DNA test to ascertain whose son he is. The contours of his "soldier" face, the broad nature of his lips, the size of his beautiful eyes, the thickness of his eyebrow and the density of his eye lashes has said it all. You will need less than five minutes to observe and confirm that he is a true son of his father. . When I look at him and smile, it's because I see myself in him, he looks cool but very tough, he has a mind of his own and doesn't give up easily.
When I was a child, I was so close to my father, such that I allowed no one (not even my mom) to feed me. The exclusive right to my feeding belongs to my dad, I 'll wait no matter how long it takes for him to come back. Even now, I can still remember when my dad used to feed me. I slept on his bed till I left the primary school.

I reproduced my like: Anytime am at home Zuriel will not let anyone feed him (even before his mom left). He wouldn't even let her change his diapers, bathing him then was like war. Now he must sleep on my bed first before I carry him to their room. He wouldn't go to school unless I escorted him to the school bus. In fact Zuriel is doing his best to replicate the boy I was. I love him so much because he makes my life fun.

Exactly two years ago, God blessed us with a cute, adorable, lovely, frail but anointed little baby boy, ZURIEL. It's amazing to see how far God has taken our little boy. It is my desire to watch you grow and flourish in God's love. I want you to aspire for greater things and strive to be THE BEST wherever you will find yourself. And I prayed for him thus: 
My Prayer for Zuriel The day he was born - 
Welcome to the World my son, May Jehovah El Chai Yai,
the God of your Father bless, prosper and keep you safe. 
You have a voice that cannot be silenced, 
A life that cannot be taken, 
A dream that cannot be killed, 
You were born with a destiny that cannot be destroyed. 
You will do so many things and you will succeed in them. 
I pray you will know more joy than sorrow
You will seek God with your whole heart and let him guide your choice
In the days when there seems to be no light in the tunnel, may you find joy
You will be healthy and your body will continue to grow strong
Nothing will crush your feisty spirit
You will use your talent and gifts to lead others well
When obstacles appear on your way, you will have enough determination to not let them stop you.
You will never stop learning
You will never stop smiling
You are a blessing to your parents and a wonder to your generation.
You will succeed where other people failed. What killed other people will not kill you.
You will grow old in health and peace, go ahead conquer and rule your world.
JEHOVAH God will neither leave you nor forsake you; He is your ROCK and your REFUGE, all the days of your life. You have the blessing of your father and no one can curse you. I bless you son, in the name Jesus Christ, Amen.

MY PRAYER FOR ZURIEL ONYEDIKACHIM THOMAS ON HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY.
MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU:
May the LORD grant you a good year. May you be healthy and happy. May He help you learn and grow up to be strong. May He make you obedient and joyful. May He protect you from any physical harm or illness. May he protect your heart from pain and may He protect your soul from spiritual attack.
MAY THE LORD MAKE HIS FACE SHINE UPON YOU AND BE GRACIOUS TO YOU:
May the Lord reveal Himself to you, even in your earliest years. May you know even today that His presence holds the fullness of joy. May He make you His Child. May you find yourself always under the shadow of the cross, your sins forgiven, Christ’s blood covering you with grace. May your life be utterly and completely His.
MAY THE LORD LIFT UP HIS COUNTENANCE UPON YOU AND GIVE YOU PEACE:
May the lord be your dearest friend throughout your life. May He be kind to you and discipline you gently. May His presence be the source of your peace throughout life and a refuge in times of trial. Whatever happens, may you hold fast to Him, and be hidden under the shadow of His wings knowing His love for you in Jesus Christ. Now and always may the father bless you richly in His son through His Holy Spirit Amen.
Zuriel is two years old today, and I have prayed for him, but I have three simple advises for him, in few years time he will be able to read this.

  2. Stand on the shoulders of great me - Mentors gets you to success faster. Be open to accepting direction and wisdom from those who have walked the road before you.
  3. Remember that we love you - When you have tough times always know that God loves you and so do I.

It was the longest night of my life. The doctor looked at me with mute hopeless appeal, his facial expression was that of total despair though he managed to pretend as if everything was okay. Within a second, I was gripped by this sense of disgust, sorrow and revulsion and I gave him a curious but futile stare. I could feel the scorch of fear on my skin travelling through my spine, down to the bone marrow even though he is yet to utter a word. I nearly lost my balance; I had to lean on the wall to regain myself. I feared the worst. It was about 1:30am in the early hours of Friday March 27th, 2015, I could feel the movement of light disappearing from my eyes. The night became darker than usual. My heart skipped as if it's about jumping out of its cage. All these happened in less than 5 seconds. I knew there was nothing okay about the situation, but I managed to ask, "I hope she is alright?"
