The Ideal Man - 8 important things a woman wants from her Man

The truth remains that no one has it all, we all have some good and bad sides but there are some common qualities that makes a man very attractive, highly respected and the Ideal man for the women folk. Although I am not a woman but I have been privileged to have lots of amazing women around. I have a mom who is a role model to many other women, six lovely sisters, majority of my friends are ladies, my current work place is predominantly women, and I was married to a woman who understands what she wants clearly. From experience and my long term interactions with them I have been able to identify some important qualities most women would like their man to have.

Attention

According to some of the women I spoke with, one of the surest ways to upset a woman is to ignore her or keep mute when she expects a response from you. The company of an uninteresting friend is usually a very painful one. She wants you to talk with her with an undivided attention, show interest in her career. Pay attention to her challenges, daily activities, her dreams and future aspirations. She feels better when you talk and listen to understand her and not to respond or solve.

Love

Every woman wants a man who will love her for whom she is and not for what she has. A woman wants a man who will love her the way she is yet encourages her to be better. They need to be reassured that they are loved not only in words but more in actions. She wont believe your chorus of "I love you" if your actions towards her does not prove it. If you don't love her, then she has no business being with.

Respect

Women demand respect from their partners; respect not only for them but also for you and the people they are closest to. I once had issues with my late wife; she was angry that I did not respect myself enough and felt I was trampled upon as a result. This is usually a bigger problem if it involves another lady. You are her hero, disrespecting yourself is a big turn off for her. One of the best ways to say I love you is to respect those who are closest to her; those she respects, yourself inclusive.

Affection

Women love guys who are affectionate, most guys don't get this; it seems difficult for most men to understand that majority of the ladies are not as interested in sex as most men are. They want you to express your love in gifts, hugs, words of affirmation, acts of service and sweet nothings. Dr Kevin Leman, president couple of promise wrote: "More than anything women need affection. Hugs, kisses, hand-holding, back-rubs, but not sex. They need affection as affection not just foreplay. They don't need to be grabbed."

Honesty

This is high up on the list and every woman wants her man to be honest. Truthfully expressing both positive and negative feelings, give straightforward answers without leaving any false impression. Women don't like a man they cannot trust; they seem to fall deeply in love with men they perceived to be very honest. Honesty builds trust and if you are found with a little dishonesty trust will disappear and it will be very difficult to restore.

Hygiene and Attractiveness

No woman enjoys the company of a dirty and shabby man as a partner. Your personal grooming is essential to your woman. She wants you to keep fit physically, dress up in a manner that she finds pleasing. A man who smell good is perceived as more attractive by women. A woman wants her man to smell nice always. She  may condone your foul smell but she certainly does not appreciate it.

Care

A woman wants a man who can take charge and take care of her. She wants a man who is attuned to her feelings; someone who can tell what's in her mind before she says anything. You should be able to defend her in times of danger. She wants a  man who can shoulder her responsibilities. A man who will be a provider, a friend, a husband, and a dad for her children not just an ordinary sperm donor like most men are.

Sense of humour

Women enjoy the company of the "funny" guys. You don't have to be a comedian but a good sense of humour and ability to exercise it often matters to them. They want someone who can make them laugh.
