APC's Blame Game - The Consequences Of Unsustainable Promises
Nigeria seems to be on a fast lane; gradually going down the way of total collapse, while our leaders are busy apportioning blames to "Jonathan", a former president. Those of us who supported the election of President Mohammadu Buhari(PMB) are now singing the bitter song of regret. Governance is something more than arresting and prosecuting looters or political opponents. Some of us are beginning to see how wrong a choice he was in that election.
The truth hurts but must be told; the blame game that APC seems to have embarked upon is a direct consequence of their inability to keep to certain promises they made in haste. No individual wants to accept responsibility, after all it's much easier to put the blame on others. We have seen the terrible consequences of a hasty coalition. If former president, GEJ was "clueless" like we said he was, what then shall we call the present administration? It seems they were not ready for governance in the first place, maybe they were only interested in unseating, Goodluck and PDP.
APC promised "change" because they wanted "power," so they made uncountable but very unrealistic promises to Nigerians, and finally they got what they wanted. Nigerians also wanted "change" so they voted APC, it's left for you to judge if we have gotten what we wanted.
Obviously, there are changes, but how positive are they? You can see them everywhere; change in monetary policy, change in the volume of foreign reserves, the price of dollar, the cost of living, respect for the rule of law and court orders, cancellations and nullifications of election results and mandates. Change in the type of human right violations the former chief of army staff (Ihejirika) was accused of by the northan elders.
We have also experienced changes in the Police force and the military, or haven't we? Boko haram has finally been defeated "technically". How about the Chibock girls, they are back, aren't they? Thanks to God! The so called troublers of Nigeria; Nnamdi KANU, the leader of IPOB and Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of Shi'a muslims in Nigeria have been captured and detained as well. Change in deed!
Nigerians don't delight in daily reminder of how terrible the Jonathan administration was, PDP is our past and APC our present. We voted APC to fix the mess of PDP and they should do just that (that's if they can anyway). Reminding us of how Jonathan destroyed Nigeria or apportioning blames to his team will do Nigeria no good. Finally, ruling Nigeria may not be as easy as they thought. You were elected into the office to bring positive change to Nigeria, SHARE the CHANGE and not the BLAME!
