31 Characteristics Of A Godly Woman



"He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord" (Proverbs 18:23). Here, the Bible talks about not just any kind of woman, but a special kind; the Model Woman. This woman is the ideal wife, the dream of every man. But the Bible asked, "a virtuous woman, who can find..?" 
Who can find a woman that the husband: 
  • Has absolute confidence in her faithfulness.
  • Knows she will not be a waster of his life and resources.
  • Is blessed with her tireless industry all the days of his life.
  • Is exalted as a king by the people for her sake.
Who can find? If you ask me, I would say I don't know, may be you have found one, like my brother whose wedding picture appeared in this post or you hope to find one soon. But first let's examine the Characteristics of the model woman; the ideal wife as she was described in the Bible(Proverbs 31:10-31).

  3. Trustworthy
  4. Inherently good and true
  5. Ingenious - proficient
  6. Thrifty - laborious
  7. Dutiful and considerate
  8. Versatile - judicious
  9. Tireless - healthy
  10. Joyful and efficient
  11. Watchful and cautious
  12. Skillful
  13. Charitable and benevolent
  14. Generous and merciful
  15. Fearless
  16. Cleaver at decorating
  17. Refined in taste
  18. Respected and popular
  19. Industrious and prosperous
  20. Dependable and honest
  21. Confident and hopeful
  22. Wise and discrete
  23. Kind and understanding
  24. Prudent and practical
  25. Energetic
  26. A perfect wife and ideal mother
  27. Honoured by her family
  28. Excels in virtue
  29. God fearing
  30. Successful
  31. Honoured by the public

It was the longest night of my life. The doctor looked at me with mute hopeless appeal, his facial expression was that of total despair though he managed to pretend as if everything was okay. Within a second, I was gripped by this sense of disgust, sorrow and revulsion and I gave him a curious but futile stare. I could feel the scorch of fear on my skin travelling through my spine, down to the bone marrow even though he is yet to utter a word. I nearly lost my balance; I had to lean on the wall to regain myself. I feared the worst. It was about 1:30am in the early hours of Friday March 27th, 2015, I could feel the movement of light disappearing from my eyes. The night became darker than usual. My heart skipped as if it's about jumping out of its cage. All these happened in less than 5 seconds. I knew there was nothing okay about the situation, but I managed to ask, "I hope she is alright?"
