SHOW A LITTLE KINDNESS

It was a chilling sight to behold, I saw nothing other than a malnourished, weak, tired and heartbroken little woman.
I saw this picture on Ilogbenu John's timeline on facebook, and he wrote: "We are talking about science and technology in our country !!, we are investing in weapons and talking about Highways, Bishops and Churches are having big investments, driving big cars and talking about '' ''blessings''!!!. Governments are talking about building railways, and big '' fish'' talking about mansions and plots in prime places in the cities!! we are blindfolded by selfishness!!. None is talking about people dying of hunger! Nobody is thinking about orphans and widows, nobody is speaking about Street Children for them to have a place to call home.

We can serve God better by remembering such people than big offerings, Big preaching, big singing and flashy cars in our churches .

God is not pleased with what we are giving priority in our lives than remembering the less fortunate in our midst!!! , we are pleasing our pastors and other close friends than touching these less fortunate in our communities, pride has taken over the place of mercy in our hearts and has folded our eyes from seeing the truth!.

i couldn't help but shed tears seeing this poor Mother burying her dead child alone, left alone with her God in the wild. kindly stand up today and do something for them. Say something comment about this and share to pass the good message, and save a soul somewhere in our midst! IT COMES A TIME IN OUR LIVING WHEN WE HAVE TO SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!!!!!!!!...

Thank you Mr Ilogbenu John, but the question is; how do we say enough is enough? Would saying enough is enough make the world a better place? As I gazed at the picture, I watched a soul that has been ripped apart by sorrow, rejected by the world, abandoned by friends  yet very courageous. She did not give up on herself even though everyone else left her without an iota of support.

A question came into my mind; "when is it going to end?" The sufferings and sorrows of this world seems unending. A "half naked" woman, burying her dead child all alone. This half nakedness was not a fashion or style; she would have preferred to put on a blouse, but circumstances made it so. She could not afford a dress to cover the upper part of her body. Her chest was laid bare, but she cared notDo we still need to ask the reason for the child's death? Hunger, starvation, malnutrition, cold, lack of medical care etc must have contributed to her death.

My considerations - the Irony of Life:
  • Thousands of people die of hunger and starvation daily, yet our garbage cans are full of left-over food. We waste foods that people are in dare need of.
  • Some people don't have cloths to wear but we have bags of cloths we convert into rags on daily basis.
  • Many people can't afford clean drinking water, yet we have money to buy many bottles of beer, and drink ourselves into stupor.
  • We get mad at our parents for not providing all we need, but we forgot that there are little orphans who never had the pleasure to call someone Dad or Mum.
  • We feel sad when we can't buy a shoe of our choice, yet there are many double amputees who are still grateful to be alive.
  • We think life is so hard for us, without knowing that many people wished they were like us.
  • We are sad when we fall sick; but we don't remember that many people like us are dead already.

Is it better for God to create more food for the poor people of the world or do we still rely on the middle class, the rich and the supper rich to help the poor? Repeatedly, we have failed God and disappointed humanity by our acts of selfishness.

When I saw this picture, I realized I have a lot to give thanks for. No wonder the Bible says: "It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart." Ecclesiates 7:2(NIV). You can do something to make the world a better place.

We all want to become billionaires before we can help others. To be rich is not what you have in your bank account, but what you have in your heart. You can share even the little you have with someone in need. The Christmas season is fast approaching, try to put a smile on someone's face. Do something unusual to touch some hearts. Give food to the hungry, visit the sick, support the orphans. It is in giving that we receive, no act of kindness no matter how little goes unrewarded.
No matter who you are, you have something to be thankful for; and the best way to thank God for your life is to show kindness to the less privileged.
