The Power of Choice



Your choices of today are the realities of tomorrow. God gave man a free will to choose according to his desires. A strong and independent will with which we can even say "NO" to God Himself. Yes man can resist God. But our life today is the outcome of our desires and choices of yesterday. God gave us the power of choice; so that we can have control over our choices but once we have made the choice, it has power over us. We shall always be faced with the result of the choices we make.

The Bible is full of people who made choices that either made or marred their lives. Joseph chose to forgive his brothers rather than keep bitterness(Gen. 45:3-7). 
Samson chose to follow lustful desires other than God's plan for his life(Judges16). 
Abraham chose to trust God, and was willing to offer his son(Gen.22). 
Judas chose to betray Christ for financial gain(Matt26:14-16)
The choices of Joseph, Abraham brought unbelievably wonderful results. On the other hand, the choices of Samson and Judas brought consequences that they did not forsee when they made their decisions. Both Samson and Judas ended their lives by suicide. Samson lost the delivering power of God and ended his life a blind slave.
Be careful of the choice you make today because you can't escape the rewards or consequences.

God has given us the power of choice; we have control over our choices only before they are made. But once we have made our choice we can no longer have power to choose the consequences. Make wise choices today and avoid many regrets tomorrow. "Wisdom chooses to do now what it will be satisfied with later on..."

It was the longest night of my life. The doctor looked at me with mute hopeless appeal, his facial expression was that of total despair though he managed to pretend as if everything was okay. Within a second, I was gripped by this sense of disgust, sorrow and revulsion and I gave him a curious but futile stare. I could feel the scorch of fear on my skin travelling through my spine, down to the bone marrow even though he is yet to utter a word. I nearly lost my balance; I had to lean on the wall to regain myself. I feared the worst. It was about 1:30am in the early hours of Friday March 27th, 2015, I could feel the movement of light disappearing from my eyes. The night became darker than usual. My heart skipped as if it's about jumping out of its cage. All these happened in less than 5 seconds. I knew there was nothing okay about the situation, but I managed to ask, "I hope she is alright?"
